El Mirage / Your care questions

# What if something arrives wrong? Know the next step.

A severe allergic reaction may cause trouble breathing, tongue swelling or collapse.

Call 911 now or go straight to the nearest emergency room.

## When a medicine arrives

-

### Compare the name with the care plan.

Check what was prescribed against the label and the pharmacy name. Ask the pharmacy to explain any difference.

-

### Look for damage or missing information.

FDA, the US medicine review agency, lists damaged packaging and missing instructions among its warnings about medicines received after remote care.

-

### Ask about an unclear label.

FDA has received reports of problems possibly linked to measurement mistakes with semaglutide injections made to order; some required hospital care.

If you cannot make sense of the medicine label alongside the syringe markings, get an explanation from the prescriber or pharmacist.

Do not guess how much to draw into a syringe from a website.

-

### Check the product’s storage instructions.

Storage needs vary between peptide medicines; the product’s own label and pharmacy instructions matter.

## If a refrigerated weight injection arrives warm

In guidance checked September 17, 2026, FDA advises against using delivered GLP-1 injections if they arrive warm or poorly refrigerated; these are a group of weight medicines.

The concern is that poor temperature control can affect the medicine’s quality.

Ask the pharmacy to explain what happens next. There is no single storage rule for every peptide medicine.

## Report a medicine problem

Patients can report problems with medical products through FDA’s MedWatch programme.

A report documents an unwanted event, but that report alone cannot prove the medicine was its cause.

Keep the label, packaging and care messages with your notes about what happened.

## Keep urgent symptoms separate from paperwork

According to MedlinePlus, a severe allergic reaction threatens life, and symptoms may start within seconds or minutes.

Call 911 now or go straight to the nearest emergency room.
